The Truth About Passover

Brothers and sisters of the Most High God. I had a talk with someone who asked about Passover. They informed me that the law was done away with, so we didn't have to keep Passover.  Listen to the response.

Exodus 12:12-14 (key verse 14)

12   For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD.

13   And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.

14   And this day shall be unto you for a (memorial); (ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance ((forever.))

Furthermore.  .  . .  .

Exodus 12:17

17 And ye shall observe the feast of unleavened bread; for in this selfsame day have I brought your armies out of the land of Egypt: (therefore shall ye observe this day in your generations by an ordinance ((forever.))

Now the actual time frame of Passover (the date to be observed) was given in the Levitical Laws in Leviticus 23:4-6

4   These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.

5   In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD'S passover.

6   And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.

Consequences.  .  .  .

Numbers 9:13

13 (But the man that is clean, and is (not) in a journey, and forbeareth (does not keep it)  to keep the passover, (even the same soul) (shall be cut off) from among his people: because he (brought not the offering) of the LORD in his appointed season, (that man shall bear his sin.)

Well it's not in the NT. (Some might say)

1 Corinthians 5:7-8

7   Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

8   Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; (e.g. . . . when you do observe do like this) but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

(e.g. . . for example)

Paul said keep it but be sincere and truthful when you observe it

The statue predates the law but was always intended to be an integral part of worship for those who are Jewish. (Even those who are Jews inwardly) Romans 2:29.

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked (you know the rest) (Galatians 6:7)
